At the center of the cluster sits the Oakheart itself — the heart the whole complex is named for. A multi-port orbital anchor that holds every ship together the way a heart keeps a body alive. Vessels arrive, align to its motion, and lock into place, and a lone ship becomes one petal of a flower slowly opening in the dark. And because it holds so rigidly, the entire assembly can spin as one — conjuring artificial gravity whenever the crew needs it.

This is an optional capability, not the default state. By design, the complex rests in true microgravity — but because the Oakheart and every Starship locked to it form one rigid structure, the entire assembly can be set rotating together as a single body whenever it's called for.
When it spins, centrifugal force presses the crew gently toward the outer ends of the ships, recreating the steady pull of gravity with no moving parts inside. Spin it up when the crew needs footing and rest; spin it back down for microgravity science. The same architecture delivers both, on demand — a dial between weightlessness and a felt sense of down that stays off until someone chooses to turn it on.
